The pot of a Soviet soldier, was found in Stalingrad in the place of Lysaya Gora! Fierce battles for height 145.5 and the adjacent territory were fought continuously from September 1942 to January 1943 for 147 days. The wounds of war have not yet healed to the end on this earth. Traces of trenches and craters from explosions can be identified. The earth here keeps fragments of thousands of mines, shells, bullets, the remains of fallen soldiers. Wandering along the mountain, here and there you come across white stone pyramids with stars depicted on them - they mark the places of the most fierce hand-to-hand fighting. On September 14, 42, the Nazis captured the height, but the Soviet troops managed to recapture it. A few days later, the enemy again captured the mountain, turning it into a well-fortified knot: they dug trenches, planted mines and surrounded the mountain with a wire fence. Parts of the 64th Army of General Mikhail Shumilov (7th Rifle Corps, 36th Guards Division, 126th and 422nd Rifle Divisions, a combined cadet regiment and others) had to storm the hill several times: in October 1942 and in the first month of 1943. On January 17, after fierce battles, Lysaya Gora was finally liberated, and the enemy driven from the bridgehead was driven into the center of Stalingrad.
