The cross was found near the town Surovikino (Stalingrad region) in the field in combat positions. The cross was found at shallow depths in the pocket of jacket. The remains of a soldier by whose belonged to the cross was not found. Also nearby was found a cockade of a soldier of the Wehrmacht.
