This Badge and several others were found in the basement of the old boiler house in the suburbs of Leipzig. Was exported from Germany in 2006 and currently were in a private collection in Russia. The steel breastplate of a soldier of the Red Army SN 42 (SN-2) was found during excavations in the North of Stalingrad, near the river Mokraya Mechetka. This steel breastplate and Soviet helmet SSH40 was found in the trenches on the Bank of the river. The helmet had 2 bullet hits, But the steel breastplate does not have them.
The badge was found near the village Vertyachiy (Stalingrad region) in the field in combat positions among the shell from artillery guns. And in this place was found the parts presumably from the artillery gun pak 38. Therefore, most likely the badge belonged to a soldier of the Wehrmacht artillery. The helmet was found under a floorboard in the old ruined wooden house in a suburb of the city of Stalingrad (now Volgograd). Most likely the helmet was lying next to the stove, as the helmet has a burnt in some places, and beside the helmet there were embers and ash.
